Kilkenny Chamber of Commerce Awards 2011

Pictured below, members of Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel staff and managment took time out to celebrate after the Hotel won a Customer Excellence Award, the Age Friendly Award and the Best Overall Business Award at the Chamber Business Awards 2011.  The Award judges said customer service was embedded throughout the Hotel and the staffs commitment to excellent service contributed towards the Hotel being chosen as Kilkennys Best Business 2011. 

Optimus Award 2011

In February 2011 Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel received an Optimus Award for Service Excellence.

Optimus is a national quality standard and business improvement tool for the Irish tourism industry. Its emphasis is on business improvement. It does this by helping enterprises understand their performance and then assists them in establishing priorities around making continuous improvements.

Optimus is built on proven international approaches to tourism management and draws on the European Foundation Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence model in its methodology. It comprises five levels. Businesses build their capabilities at each stage and gain recognition as they make progress. This enables them to progress through the different levels. The first 3 levels are either partially or fully aligned to the European Foundation Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence model.
