Just a quick note to thank you for what turned out to be a flawless day, Sincerest thank you to you and all the staff in particular the bar and waiting staff and one of your house keeping staff who was very kind to our elderly Grand Aunt, whom she made a cup of tea while cleaning her room. Everything was to perfection and Louise as you know I am hard to please. Looking forward to our next visit to the Ormonde. Wishing you all the best Lots of Love Lydia & Dan
Recently stayed in the Ormonde…As always,a total pleasure..Pleasant and helpful girls at reception..Best place to stay in Kilkenny. 13 December 2013, Trish O’Regan.
Got to your hotel via the Zuni Hotel. There was a mix-up in our reservations at the Zuni(not their fault) and the Zuni quickly made reservations at your place. We took the last room. What a blessing. We were exhausted after traveling from the US and sightseeing all day. What a lovely place. 04 October 2013, Kathy and Greg
Kilkenny Castle is located in the heart of Kilkenny City in an area known as the “High Town”, beside the River Nore which runs through the town. It was built in the early part of the 13th Century for the 4th Earl of Pembroke and was home to the powerful Butler family for over 600 years.
Rothe House Kilkenny is a fine example of an early 17th century merchant’s house and is located in the centre of Kilkenny City. The house was built somewhere between 1594 and 1610 and is open to visitors. Is is also the centre for genealogy in Kilkenny and the Garden was opened to the public in 2008. The attraction is managed by the Kilkenny Archaeological Society and houses a significant collection of historical artefacts.
