St. Canice’s Cathedral
St. Canice’s Cathedral and the Round Tower are some of the oldest standing structures in Kilkenny, with an ecclesiastical site founded there in the 6th Century named after St. Canice.
Visitors can climb the Round Tower to enjoy the fantastic views of the City, or view two fine examples of stained glass windows from the Harry Clarke studio. Visitors can view the Cathedral from 10am to 5pm (closed for lunch) for April, May and September and for June, July and August it is open from 9am to 6pm. From October to March it is open from 10am to 4pm (closed for lunch) from Monday to Saturday and from 2pm to 4pm on Sundays.
