Q - What are the check in time and check out time at Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel?

Check in time is at 16:00 and check out time at 12:00 noon unless you have organised an early check in or late check out directly with the hotel. If you arrive before 4pm then you can park your car in Ormonde Street Car Park, we can get you to register with us and we can store your luggage for you.

Q - What is the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel's cancellation policy?

We allow cancellation up to 24 hours prior to arrival for reservations made directly with the hotel. 

So, should there be any changes to your travel plans and you need to cancel, please let us know before 4pm on the day before you're due to arrive, to avoid being charged. A charge of one night's accommodation will apply to any cancellations received after 16:00 on the day prior to arrival. 

Please note that if you book through a 3rd party website like Booking.com, for example, who might have a 48 hour cancellation period, then you will need to adhere to that 3rd party’s cancellation policy and their terms & conditions.

Yes, Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel is a family friendly Kilkenny hotel with spacious family rooms. Our larger Club Rooms, that can accommodate up to a family of 6 are bookable directly with the Hotel only.

Dining Facilities

Q - What time is breakfast served?

Breakfast is served Monday to Friday 7.30am to 10.30am and Weekends from 8am – 10.30am

Q - What are the Restaurant and Bar Opening Times?

Breakfast is served from 07:30 to 10:30 midweek and from 08:00 to 10:30 at weekends and bank holiday Mondays. 

Lunch is served in the Castle Lounge from 12:30 to 17:30

Evening Dining in Hoban Bar & Brasserie is from 17:30 to 20:30. Pre-booking is advised.

Regular Bar opening times apply with a Residents Bar operating nightly until 02:00

Q - Is room service available?          

Yes, room service is available 24 hours for food and up to 02:00 for beverages.

A charge of €6 applies to each delivery to your room.

Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel is a 5 minute drive or a 15 minute walk from MacDonagh Junction train station. The Ormonde Road bus stop, serving all main routes, is a 5 minute walk.

Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel is a short walking distance to all attractions in Kilkenny City, including Kilkenny Castle, the Smithwicks Experience and the Medieval Mile Museum, as well as many bars, restaurants and boutique and quirky shops.

Q - Does Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel have a car park?

Residents of the Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel can avail of discounted parking in the adjacent Ormonde Street Car Park. This multi storey car park is directly opposite the Hotel entrance.

Q - How much does car-parking cost at Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel?

Secure City Centre parking at €8 per night is available in the Ormonde Street Car Park. Guests pay at the Hotel and we will validate your ticket on departure or should you need to take your car out at any time during your stay. When we validate your ticket on departure it will last until 21.00 on that day.  

 Q - Are there Electric Vehicle charging points at Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel? 

No. However the nearest one to KOH is at Gaol Road, 2 outlets  R95 A344, 4 minutes from hotel

Yes, Kilkenny Ormonde Hotel is the only hotel in Kilkenny City Centre with a swimming pool. The hotel has its very own 21 metre indoor swimming pool. We also have a fully equipped Gym.
